Abstract

Elementary school mathematics learning, especially on fractional material whose questions are in the form of stories, there are still many students who experience difficulties. In mathematics subjects, fractional material is often understood as abstract material. On December 7 &8, 2022, a needs analysis was carried out on students and homeroom teachers of SDN Tegalgondo Malang, it was found that problems that can interfere with mathematics learning are media, not all students have resources in learning or learning media and lack of use of learning media during classroom learning. Therefore, learners cannot learn by themselves, except to get an explanation from the teacher. Plus, grade IV students at SDN Tegalgondo prefer media in the form of images that also contain material and discussion of questions. Therefore, the development of learning media is very necessary, namely media that can motivate student learning, can be used at home or at school, media in the form of images and contains fractional material and discussion of questions. The purpose of this research is to develop Media KOMPECAMA (Comic Fractions of Mathematics).
The research model used by researchers is ADDIE research (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). In this development research, the reason researchers use the ADDIE model. This research was conducted in the fourth grade students of SDN Tegalgondo totaling 16 students and was carried out on January 4 and 6, 2024 for the 2023/2024 school year.
Based on the results of this research and development, it was obtained that the results of KOMPECAMA media analysis can attract attention, motivate student learning and improve student learning outcomes regarding fractional material. In its planning and development, KOMPECAMA media is packaged in the form of print media on art paper with a length of 22 cm and a width of 15 cm which has access to digital comics (link & barcode). This KOMPECAMA media was implemented in grade IV at SDN Tegalgondo which amounted to 16 students. In the final evaluation results from expert validators, 95% of the material was obtained which was very valid tested without the need to revise again. Then in the final results of media expert validators obtained 88.63% where valid media was tested in the field. From the results of data obtained in the KOMPECAMA media development research implemented in grade IV SDN Tegalgondo, a percentage of 97.88% of the students' response questionnaires regarding their interest in KOMPECAMA media showed a very good response. Then in the results of the fractional material student evaluation questions, a percentage of 98.46% was obtained. In conclusion, students can understand fractional material, especially can solve problems related to problems in the form of fractional material stories.
