Abstract

Geographically Indonesia is a country that has many islands which make it has a great water resources. Economically Indonesia is developing country. Cross flow hidro turbine is small electrical powerplant that with simple form and easy to make. This writing is about Cross flow hidro turbine design, based on experimental study that was done by author and others, specifically stressed on the design and performance, where simple turbine result in optimal power. Model size and turbine efficiency in some study mentioned above are presented. Equation for runner diameter and vane radius also described. On this turbine it was predicted that the sentrifugal force will affect the turbine power. This prediction will be interesting to further study
