Abstract

This research identifies problems related to students' lack of ability to deal
with HOTS mathematics problems. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to
have the right model and media, namely the PBL model and Wordwall media. This
research aims to determine students' critical thinking abilities and problem solving
abilities when learning mathematics on HOTS questions in the Wordwall-assisted
PBL model. This research is a type of qualitative research with descriptive methods.
The subjects of this research were 31 students from class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah
2 Batu. Based on the results of data analysis through research instruments in the
form of data collected from student response questionnaires regarding the use of
learning media, HOTS test questions discussed by SPLDV related to students'
critical thinking abilities and problem solving abilities. From the research results, it
was concluded that with the use of the PBL model and wordwall media, students'
critical thinking abilities were on average very critical, namely with a percentage of
80.27% and students' problem solving abilities were in the high category with a
percentage of 80.20%.
