Abstract

“Posesif” movie by Edwin can be categorized as the first romantic-suspense movie in Indonesia that trying to bring a new myth in the industry of movie in Indonesia, which is the teenage-love relationship are no longer shown as connections with a good attitude and sweet behavior with an affectionate. The research uses an interpretive research with qualitative approach. This research uses the analysis of semiotics by Roland Barthes by looking the part of element in audio and visual in this movie. So, can found the detail message through denotative and konotative side. The results of this research didn’t show the function of teenage dating according to Paul & White (1990) as a form of recreation. There was a tension and fear that Lala feels, not happiness and sweetness in her teenage-love relationship. Cultural value from the family about tennage-healthy relationship not reflected here. The conclusion from the “Posesif” movie by Edwin is a modern teenage-love relationship that show the excessive actualization of love and the absence of boundaries of personal space between each other. Thhere was violence to his/her partner and hurt people around them to show the meaning of love. Love relationship like this is so important to know nowadays. Love relationships are no longer just describing love and not describe the function of dating as a form of recreation.
