Abstract

Study of mathematics until now still tending to applies discourse method, assignation and question and answer, where teacher that is very stands is active in study while student-becoming hearer. This thing can cause at understanding of student and then result of learning is less optimally because student keeps of active. One of study strategy inviting student for active built knowledge in mind his own with activity pleasing that student does not feel quickly bored is study of model cooperative learning with technique in changing over couple. Purpose of this research is (1) description of student activity during study of mathematics through cooperative learning with technique in changing over couple, (2) description of student response to study model cooperative learning with technique in changing over couple and (3) know result of student learning after using cooperative learning with technique in changing over couple. This research applies qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data taken is result of observation of student activity, result of inquiry loading student response and result of student test. While data source in this research is class student VII and teacher teaching mathematics in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang, becoming research subject is student of class VII that amounts to 28 student. From result of research indicated that mean from student activity during study from two meetings in categorizing effective. Result of learning indicates that out of 28 student following test, 21 student fulfilling KKM with percentage 75% told to be complete. While student response to study of model cooperative learning with technique in changing over couple equal to 69% included in medium category. Keyword: cooperative learning, changes over couple.
