Abstract
TAN is a historical novel that reveals the journey of hero Tan Malaka. Discovered ideas and ideas that exposed Tan Malaka's struggle during the Dutch period until the time in the Indies. Research on TAN's novel focuses on the textuality of history, historical texts, and then implemented in the form of historical criticism. The purpose of this study is to reveal (1) historical textuality, (2) historical text, and (3) to criticize the historical aspects of TAN novel by Hendri Teja. This study uses a historical approach, which takes into account the historicity of literary works. The method in this research is reading parallel type of data including story unit in the form of dialogue, monologue, or story unit in novel. The source of research data is Hendri's novel TAN. The results of research and discussion obtained conclusion that is; historical textuality includes; (1) focalization and (2) symbol interaction. Historical research results and text discussions include; (1) political praxis and (2) social praxis. Furthermore, historical criticism of the TAN novel influences the findings and results of textual analysis of historical and historical texts. The historical criticism of TAN's novel by Hendri Teja often raises the heroism of Tan Malaka through ideas, ideas and movements in the interest of Indonesia. Hendri Teja describes Tan Malaka as a very intelligent, knowledgeable man, and actively pours his thoughts into articles or opinions contained in the mass media of Europe. In addition, Hendri Teja adorned TAN's novel with untouchable betrayal, conspiracy, and love. Throughout his life Tan Malaka had suffered, but did not stop him fighting.
