Abstract

In the field of education, communication plays a crucial role. Education aims to develop the potential of learners to become individuals who are faithful, pious, morally upright, and knowledgeable. However, during the pre-concrete operational stage, children at the early childhood education (ECE) or kindergarten level often face challenges in comprehending abstract religious values. Therefore, teachers need to select appropriate communication strategies.
This research aims to understand teachers' communication strategies in instilling religious values at TAPAS Al-Karimah and Playgroup/TK Al-Fath Dau, as well as the efforts made by teachers in instilling these values. The research methodology employed is a qualitative approach involving data collection through observation, interviews, and supporting documents.
The findings of the study indicate that the schools utilize pre-admission tests to determine students' reference frames and observe students' behaviors at school to understand situational factors and student conditions. Teachers employ communication strategies that involve recognizing the situation and students' conditions, crafting messages in simple language, message repetition, habituation methods, and communication media such as sound systems and audiovisual aids. Additionally, teachers gain an understanding of students' reference frames through interviews with parents. This research provides insights into the importance of communication strategies in instilling religious values in early childhood.
