PENGARUH KUALITAS KOMUNIKASI PERNIKAHAN TERHADAP KEPUASAN PERNIKAHAN DENGAN REGULASI EMOSI SEBAGAI MODERATOR PADA PASANGAN BEDA SUKU

Marital satisfaction is very important to achieve a long-lasting marriage. In couples of different ethnic groups, the process of achieving marital satisfaction generally experiences more conflict, especially in terms of communication, which is also a factor in marital satisfaction. This research aims to analyze the role of emotional regulation consisting of cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression dimensions as moderators of the influence of marital communication quality on marital satisfaction. This type of research uses a non-experimental quantitative approach with a sample size of 292 respondents who have undergone inter-ethnic marriages with a maximum marriage age of five years, because at this age the married couple is still in the adaptation stage. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling using the Process Hayes model 1 analysis technique. The research instruments used were the ENRICH Marital Scale (EMS), Marital Communication Inventory (MCI), and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ). The results of this study show that the quality of marital communication has a positive and significant effect on marital satisfaction, while emotional regulation, both cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression, do not act as moderators on the influence of the quality of marital communication on marital satisfaction in interethnic couples.
