Abstract
Introduction : Synthetic antidiabetic therapy potentially showed some side effects. To avoid these side effects, mimba leaves (Azadirachta indica A Juss) needs to prove as a safe alternatif therapy for diabetes mellitus case. Objective : To prove the effect of mimba leaf’s dekok toward reducing rat’s (Rattus novergicus strain wistar) blood glucose level which induced by alloxan. Material and Method : Animal study conducted to 25 male rats, consist of 5 groups and 5 times replication. Alloxan was given at day 1th up to day 14th and mimba leaf’s dekok was given at day 15th up to day 28th. Blood glucose had determined at the first day, day 14th, and day 28th using GODPAP method. Result : One Way Anova test showed that the treatment was significant differences at 0,01 level. Correlation coefficient = 0,934 showed that there was a close negative correlation between mimba leaf’s dekok dose with blood glucose level. Conclusion : The treatment of mimba leaf’s dekok can reduce the rat’s blood glucose level which induced by alloxan.
