Abstract
The music industry in Indonesia has experienced development along with advancements in digital technology and social media. These technological developments make it easier for internet users to utilize online facilities such as social media. This is used by the music industry to promote music through digital music platforms like Spotify, Joox, and YouTube Music. Along with the current development of the music industry in Indonesia, there are various music genres, one of which is the indie music genre. In their song lyrics, indie musicians tend to highlight themes related to social issues. As a result, these songs more often convey messages about social, economic, and cultural criticisms in Indonesia that are currently happening. One indie musician known among Indonesian communities today is Hindia. Hindia's song lyrics are able to convey the anxieties experienced by the younger generation caused by the economic instability in Indonesia today as well as the social norms that exist around them. One of them is the song Everything U Are by This song also reached the highest number of streams at the end of the year with more than 339 million listeners by the end of 2025 on Spotify. The analysis was conducted on the lyrics of the song Everything U Are using Roland Barthes' semiotics theory with mapping of denotation, connotation, and myth. The results of this study show that the song Everything U Are by Hindia represents the meaning of unconditional love amidst social pressures experienced by young couples. The lyrics depict a couple who support, strengthen, and accept each other when facing difficulties, failures, and uncertainties in life. The concept of love is known as a romantic relationship related to family values, customs, religion, and social responsibility. The myth contained in each verse of the lyrics of Everything U Are shows that the concept of love is not only about two individuals, but also very influenced by social and cultural values in Indonesia.
