Abstract

Based on the researcher’s experience as long as doing the practice research as the mathematics teacher in a school, some inactive students are still found, especially in delivering ideas or arguments. The first observation result of the researcher in X-1 class of The State Senior High School 2 Batu, shows the nearly same condition. It is students that optimally inactive. Therefore, it is important to arrange a study that motivates students to be more active in learning process. The researcher assumes that one effective ways to trench the goal is by studying the learning process together which commonly called by lesson study. Lesson study is an approach to make learning improvement and to study learning process done by a lesson study team. Lesson study is divided into three steps: plan, do, and see. In plan as the first step, the lesson study team arranges lesson plan, method and lesson model that make students to be more active in class. “Do” step is implementation process of what are already managed before. Then, “see” step is used to reflect and improve the lesson plan, method and lesson model which are already implemented. From the research which have conducted in four meetings found the score average of students activities in first meeting is 76,70 % (quite active). The second meeting reaches 79,07 %. The third meeting gets 79,81 %, and the fourth meeting is 85,58 %. While, the activity score of the teacher in four meeting also shows good result, besides after implementing the lesson study. The result of student’s learning process from 30 students that 23 students are successfully passed, meanwhile 7 students are individually failed (do not passed). Therefore, the research of lesson study implementation is made in mathematics learning to subtopic of trigonometry in class of The State Senior High School 2 Batu.
