Abstract

Instructional media is an aid tool which is used by teacher in transferring learning material to students. There are various kinds of media that can be used to support learning activity, especially for mathematics subject, one of them is computer. Not only as instructional tool is the use of this media also to give the students some useful information about science and technology development. This media was created in computer software form which usually called as multimedia. This media was designed in interactive form in order to initiates the student?s curiosity and motivates them in learning mathematics and especially in 2D shape concept. There are various software which provide graphic animation service to design interactive media. One of them is combination between Adobe Captivate 4th version and Macro Media Flash 8th version. There are aims of developing this interactive learning media. Some of them are: to understand how to design interactive learning media using graphic animation software, to know the use implementation of interactive learning media in the class, and also to know users response about this interactive learning media. This research use Research and Development (R&D) as approach method by explaining some steps of developing interactive learning media using graphic animation. Results of developing interactive learning media using graphic animation are: description about some steps of learning media design, teaching and learning implementation, and users? response to the learning media. Some steps in designing this media are: design of main menu, making main menu, program operation, and exit menu. Teaching and learning implementation was defined as description of result of media test in the class. As many as 73,96% of users? response inform that the developed learning media got a good response from users.
