Abstract

Learning media is seen to increase student achievement. One of these media is the computer which there is a software application that supports. Macromedia flash professional 8 is one of the software and has been used by teachers SMPN 13 Malang. But in class VIII-B SMPN 13 Malang still have students who have a value below the graduation standards. This study aimed to describe the problems that facing students of VIII-B SMPN 13 Malang in mathematics learning through Macromedia flash professional 8, both at students with a high, medium, or low level. This research used a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. Data that taken in this study is documentation of the data results when the learning of mathematics through the Macromedia flash professional 8 took place, the observation of teacher and student activities, the results of the questionnaire, and the results of interviews with student representatives. Techniques of data collected used in this research are (1) documentation used to record the activities of the learning process, (2) observation is used to support questionnaire which the process is observing the activity of teachers and students during the learning take place, (3) study or test results is used as supporting statement in the questionnaire, (4) the questionnaire used to identify problem?s students at different levels, (5) interviews is used as additional information about the problems that faced by students other than those contained in the questionnaire. Based on research inferential indicate that the problems faced by students with high level are their discomfort in sitting position. The problems faced by students with medium level is their difficulty in following the explanations of teachers and their un focusing on material submitted by teachers through the Macromedia flash professional 8. While the problems of students with low level is in addition to the same problems experienced by students with a medium level, plus the difficulty of understanding both the material and example problems described by the teachers, their difficulty in giving the conclusions and discomfort in the seating layout.
