Abstract

Implementation of learning mathematics with Problem Based Learning approach in SMP Negeri 5 Sudimoro class on the subject of fractions VII aims to determine the activity and student learning outcomes can be known after the study. The problem investigated regarding student activities form the basic concept, define the problem, self learning, exchange of knowledge, and assessment. To examine the activities of these two variables on student learning in the classroom with an artificial demonstration using a computer. The study lasted for five sessions and get the results of student activities which are summarized as a percentage of each indicator and each meeting. While student learning outcomes are known from the results of student assessments in work tasks and daily tests are tailored to the matter that is material fractions. Number of students who studied a total of 27 and has the ability to learn high, medium, and low. The study, which analyzed each meeting can be summarized as follows, namely to the first meeting have a percentage 73.33%, at meeting both the percentage of 73.33%, 80.00% of the third meeting, at the fourth meeting has a percentage of 60.00%, and at the fifth meeting to have a percentage of 80.00%. In the analysis of student learning to determine the level of mastery can be seen through student learning outcomes in the form of duties and daily tests. For the results obtained during the learning progress by using the Problem Based Learning approach has the percentage of students' mastery learning as much as 81.48% with the number of students 22, and for 5 students was not finished with the percentage of 18.51%. The results obtained for the percentage of activity have an average of 74.67% with the criteria quite active. And to average at learning completeness have a percentage 81.48% with criteria completely.
