Abstract

All learning purposes are hoped to be reached and benefit by exact learning strategy done by teacher. In the learning method, there are some learning model used by teacher, one of them paired storytelling model. The research purpose were: (1) finding out students learning motivation by using paired storytelling model in linear program material at grade XII MA Bahrul Ulum Besuk High School of Probolinggo Regency, (2) finding out students activities using paired storytelling model in linear program material at grade XII MA Bahrul Ulum Besuk High School of Probolinggo Regency, (3) finding out students? study completeness after paired storytelling model application. Approach used in this research was qualitative approach with descriptive research type. As data source, there chose students of grade XII-A MA Bahrul Ulum Besuk High School year 2010/2011 consisted of 24 students. The research was done in November 2010 consisted of 4 times meeting. The result showed students? study motivation using paired storytelling model cooperative learning method "excellent" with 88.2% percentage. Activity percentage from meeting I to III always increase. In first activity, Visual Activities with average percentage of students activity 84,71% (excellent), second activity Listening Activities with average percentage of students? activity was 86,60% (excellent), then in the third activity Writing Activities with average students? activity percentage was 80,54% (good), while in fourth activity Oral Activities with average percentage of students? activity was 81,94% (good), and the fifth activity Mental Activities with average percentage of students? activity was 84,02% (good). While study result showed from 24 students who followed test, 21 of them reach study completeness standard and 3 students? didn't reach study completeness standard, so that the complete students were 87,50% and incomplete students was 12,50%. It means complete in classical. Paired storytelling model cooperative learning could be alternative for teacher to be applied in math learning in class since it motivated students to be more active and creative in math study.
