Abstract

Since human civilization began, mathematics has a very vital role in everyday. The drilling learning method is often used has made students feel saturated. To enter the era of high technology is required of mathematics lesson that combine the logic mind, the power of reason critical thinking and mathematical knowledge itself. One of the methods which can help instill the basic understanding of mathematics is visually kin esthetic mathematics learning. This research aims to determine the activity of teachers and students during the learning process visually kin esthetic math going on, knowing students learning outcome after visually kin esthetic learning mathematics, and to describe the response of students towards learning mathematics visually kin esthetic. This research uses a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. The data collected from the observation of teacher and student activities, students test results and the results of questionnaires that contain student response. The data source in this research was grade 4th of primary school?s students and the teachers who teach mathematics are from Muhamadiyah 9 ?Panglima Sudirman? primary school, Malang, while the subject of this research was grade 4th with student number 27 people. From the data obtained, then performed analysis and obtained results that the average value of the activities of teachers after three times meetings included in ?good? category, while the students activity from the first meeting until the third meeting included in ?effective? category. Students learning outcome indicate that of the 27 students who took the test, which passed KKM as 21 students with the percentage of 77,78% and that don?t passed as much as 6 students with the percentage of 22,22%. So the result of learning mathematics with visual kin esthetic otherwise completed. While the response to visually kin esthetic learning math on average get positive response from the students is 88,53%. Learning mathematics visually kin esthetic can be an alternative for teachers to be applied in mathematics lessons in the classroom because it can motivate creativity of the students in learning mathematics.
