Upaya Pemerintah Indonesia Dalam Memperkenalkan Geopark Ciletuh Kepada Dunia Dengan Meresmikannya Sebagai UNESCO Global Geopark

The diversity of natural resources in Indonesia is very diverse and can be managed by various types of interests, one of which is the Ciletuh Geopark which was developed as an ecosystem protection or conservation area and as a tourist destination. Apart from biodiversity and unique natural resources, the diversity of local geological and cultural resources has made the Ciletuh Geopark recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG). This recognition was obtained through a long process and efforts carried out since 2014. This research aims to explain Indonesia's efforts to introduce the Ciletuh Geopark to the world by inaugurating it as a UNESCO Global Geopark. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using the concept of Public Diplomacy from Nicholas J. Coll with 4 components, namely: Advocacy, Cultural Diplomacy, Exchange Diplomacy, and International Broadcasting. The results of this research show that the efforts made by the government through public diplomacy are in line with the UNESCO Global Geopark principles, where the government and the community within it must play an active role in maintaining, empowering and promoting the Geopark area.
