Abstract

This study entitled "Automatic Feeding Tool for Smart Cage Microcontroller-Based Broiler DOC". Automatic animal feed equipment is a tool for providing livestock feed without using human power directly. On average, chicken breeders, especially broilers in Indonesia, are still using a manual system to feed their pet chickens. Breeders use their hands and have to walk along the cage to the place where the feed is filled to fill the feed places. If the cage is very large, this activity is very time-consuming and labor intensive. This research was designed to make it easier for chicken farmers when giving livestock feed. The design of an Arduino-based automatic animal feed system and the hcsr-o4 sensor is capable of running a system that has been set in the Arduino software. The results of the Trial use of ultrasonic sensors and servo motors to open the lid of reserve feed containers by adjusting the volume or capacity of the feed in the feed containers so that chicken feed is maximized and more hygienic. Then an indicator of the capacity of the feed reserve container will use an ultrasonic sensor and be displayed on the 16x2 LCD as a monitor. The controller used is the Arduino UNO with the Arduino Ide microcontroller which uses the C language as its programming. The workings of the automatic feeder with an ultrasonic sensor are placed above the main chicken feed container to read the height or capacity of the main feed container, when the main feed container is running out, the ultrasonic sensor will automatically read and the servo will move to open the reserve feed container above the main feed container to fill the main feed container to a predetermined height or volume. The function of the ultrasonic sensor in the spare container is to read the capacity of the spare container and display it on the LCD.
