Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes and has had an impact on many aspects such as health, economy, social and even gender equality. In India during the Covid-19 pandemic it had an adverse impact on women's conditions, such as termination of employment, low wages, increased domestic violence, school dropouts, early marriage and this will have long-term impacts on women's lives in India, especially female informal workers who are most vulnerable to the effects. SEWA as a non-profit NGO or the largest women's labor union in India, which focuses on women's rights, especially women informal workers. Carrying out various efforts such as providing health services and digitalization services to women informal workers, holding discussions with NCUI and the former chair of the National Commission on Women, urging the government to help women informal workers during the pandemic, holding a webinar with WIEGO, holding a national meeting to discuss the conditions of women informal workers, conducting a national campaign to support women farmers, holding T20, collaborating with UN Women, and being involved in the ITUC international congress. However, as the largest women's union in India, SEWA is still not optimal in making these efforts, there are various obstacles that occur. In conducting this research using descriptive methods, collecting data through library research and analyzing with qualitative methods. Meanwhile, there are two concepts used, namely NGO and the concept of gender equality.
