PERAN TENAGA KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL KECAMATAN (TKSK) DALAM PENDAMPINGAN LANJUT USIA DI KOTA MALANG

The distribution of the elderly population and its various problems in Indonesia vary greatly. The problems faced by the elderly make them need a lot of help from various parties. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve social welfare for the elderly. One of the social volunteers who helps the elderly overcome various problems is the sub-district social welfare worker. This research tries to examine the role of sub-district social welfare workers and what factors support and hinder the role of sub-district social welfare workers in assisting the elderly in Malang City. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and the determination of subjects using purposive sampling. Data collection used interviews, observation, and documentation. The research findings show that the role of sub-district social welfare workers includes: 1. being a motivator by encouraging the elderly to carry out daily activities. 2. As an advocate, I defend and protect the rights of the elderly in obtaining services to meet their needs. 3. As an enabler, by identifying problems and needs and helping to find solutions to problems faced by the elderly, 4. As a mediator between the elderly and the required resource system 5. As a supervisor, encourage the elderly in various matters related to elderly social welfare service activities. The obstacles faced by sub-district social welfare workers in the mentoring process are transportation related to mobility needs and geographical and weather conditions related to visits to the elderly.
