Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has important transport routes to support its people's activities. There are still many transportation tools in Indonesia that are not environmentally friendly and have a negative effect on aspects of life. Transport equipment such as motorbikes and cars are often used by the public. Most transportation in Indonesia still uses petroleum fuel. Transportation in Indonesia itself is one of the largest contributing factors to carbon emissions. The purpose of this research is to find out more about the efforts made by the Indonesian government in 2023 in realizing low-carbon transportation, through the concept of green diplomacy. The role of the Indonesian government through its policies is very important, for the progress of environmentally friendly transport in Indonesia in the short and long term. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. By observing existing phenomena and trying to describe these phenomena in detail with the data that has been obtained. The data itself is taken using library research techniques obtained from: journals, theses, official websites, and social media that are relevant to the topic. The efforts made by the Indonesian government start from its policies, attracting investors, building and realizing transport in stages, as well as promoting low-carbon transport to be more evenly distributed in the country. The efforts made by the Indonesian government itself have had many positive environmental, social and economic impacts.
