Abstract

In waste management, women's involvement is necessary because most of the waste managed comes from household consumption materials. Additionally, women's household habits play a direct role, as their responsibilities in domestic sectors outweigh those of men in waste management. This study aims to examine women's roles in waste management at the 3R Mulyoagung Bersatu Waste Treatment Facility. This qualitative descriptive research employs purposive sampling technique, and gender theory analysis from Longwe's perspective is utilized. Findings reveal that waste engineering is a form of women's involvement at the 3R Mulyoagung Bersatu Waste Treatment Facility. This involvement includes waste sorting, which is the process of categorizing waste into different categories at zone 1; waste segregation, which involves dividing sorted waste into several parts or sub-categories at zone 2; and administrative tasks, such as office management, which are crucial for successful waste management. In terms of analysis, the level of women's involvement in waste management varies, ranging from awareness to participation dimensions.
