Abstract

Solar panels are an alternative energy that is widely used today, there are many problems with using solar panels, one of which is the difference in exposure to sunlight. Bidirectional Controler control is one of the topologies in a solar panel-battery hybrid system that is used to obtain maximum power and can also optimize power expenditure. When the power value produced by the solar panels is sufficient, the battery will be charged. The process of charging and discharging the battery uses a Proportional-Integral (PI) control system, to maintain stability in the output of the DC bus voltage converter. The output on the solar panels uses a Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) system to increase the efficiency of the solar panels. One method used is Pertubation and Observe (P&O) using a Boost Converter type DC Converter circuit. The results of this research are that P&O can increase the efficiency value of MPPT on solar panels and bidirectional circuits with a PI control system which is useful for maintaining the current and voltage values coming out and going into the battery so that they comply with the limit values and optimizing the use of solar panels. The benefits of this research are maintaining battery life for longer and gaining efficiency in the power produced by solar panels.
