Abstract

Teaching methods are important in the teaching and learning process. Teaching method is a method used to implement plans that have been prepared optimally to achieve the goals. Teaching methods are also used in Islamic boarding schools. Intracurricular and extracurricular teaching and learning activities in Islamic boarding schools also used teaching methods. The English week program aims to improve students' English language skills. The purpose of this research is to find out the teaching methods used in the English week program at Darussalam modern Islamic boarding school. This research used interview and observation methods. The research subjects were 2 senior LAC teachers. Based on the research results, it was found that the English week program used the direct method, grammar translation method, audio-lingual method, and silent way. In addition, the research found that there were several problems in carrying out the teaching method used, such as students' lack of understanding in understanding the material used, many students not being equipped with learning tools, many students are lazy, and students' different levels of intelligence.
