Abstract

To overcome problems in the implementation of cut and fill work, efforts are needed to optimize the use of heavy equipment in project implementation. Accelerating project completion without precise planning estimates will result in cost overruns on the project. So it is necessary to select a combination of heavy equipment so that this goal is achieved. Optimization of heavy equipment costs is carried out using the Simplex Linear Program Method. From a combination of heavy equipment, cut and fill work can be completed in a maximum of 175 days with 8 hours of work per day. With details of 160 days of excavation work and 15 days of embankment work. With the total cost of renting heavy equipment for cut and fill work, namely IDR 3,993,246,000 + 10% (for spare parts and equipment repairs) IDR. 4,392,570,600,- with detailed costs of IDR 3,785,472,000,- for excavation work, IDR 207,774,000,- for embankment work and 10% for spare parts and heavy equipment repairs. For operational costs, the hourly equipment rental is IDR. 4,688,850,- and the heavy equipment rental costs include the costs of the foreman, surveyor and others.
