Abstract

English is an international language that can be used to communicate worldwide. For Indonesian students as foreign learners, mastering a massive numbering of vocabularies is very important because it is the foundation of the language. The purpose of this study to know how the implementation of learning English by watching English movies with English subtitle and to know the students’ difficulties in eleventh grade at Senior High School 4 Balikpapan with 30 respondents (students); this research method used Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the findings is based in the result of the quantitative method. The quantitative data was analyzed to see the enhancing of students; vocabulary. In analyzing the result of the data, the researcher tried to calculate the mean score of the students’ vocabulary test in teaching English, movies, and vocabulary variables have a positive and significant effect on the decision in learning vocabulary by watching English movies with English subtitles at Senior High School 4 Balikpapan using SPSS version 27.0 program. By watching English movies with English subtitles as a learning tool helps students become more enjoy and engaged in the learning process and accelerates vocabulary learning. With the research result above, the objectives of this research were successfully achieved.
