Abstract

Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah (Bappeda) of Malang City is one of the government institutions that handles the aspirations of the community in the field of development. In its implementation, Bappeda Malang City faces challenges when dealing with community aspirations, such as collection, data recording, and categorization. Therefore, the author has designed a prototype of a community aspiration information system to address the issues faced by Bappeda Malang City. In their research, the author used a design thinking approach to tackle user issues and also using usability testing and the System Usability Scale (SUS) method for testing involving five respondents. Based on the user interviews, it was evident that Bappeda Malang City still using conventional methods in handling community aspirations, which consumes a significant amount of time. As a result of these findings, the author recommends a prototype solution with a final usability testing score is 97 with predicate high and an SUS score of 83, falling within the “acceptable” acceptability range. Furthermore, the prototype receives a grade ‘B’ on the grade scale and is rated as “excellent” in adjective ratings.
