Abstract

Abstract. The imbalance of work and personal life, can affect work stress in staff. This study aims to determine the relationship between work life balance and work stress in staff respondents of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlation approach to find the relationship between two variables. Subject selection using non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling type total subjects amounted to 23 staff of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia in X City. The measuring instruments used were Fisher's Work Life Balance Scale (WLB) and Guimaraes' Job Stress Survey (JSS) which were analyzed non-parametrically using Spearman's Correlation. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there is a negative or opposite relationship between work life balance and job stress. In other words, the higher the work life balance will be followed by the lower the job stress.
