Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe students' critical thinking skills in problem solving AKM problems based on multiple intelligences. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang consisting of 2 students with linguistic intelligence, 2 students with logical-mathematical intelligence, and 2 students with visual-spatial intelligence. The data collection techniques used were multiple intelligence questionnaires, AKM algebraic material tests, and interviews. The results of this study show that the critical thinking ability with linguistic intelligence in solving math problems is able to understand the information which is then restated the information given. However, he did not write down the information he obtained from the given problem and could provide relevant reasons related to the steps he took in solving math problems. Critical thinking skills with logical-mathematical intelligence in solving mathematical problems are able to understand information to solve mathematical problems that have been written down and restated during interviews. Always able to provide relevant reasons related to the steps he took in solving math problems. Critical thinking ability with visual-spatial intelligence in solving mathematical problems is able to understand information but cannot identify information properly and also cannot provide relevant reasons and mention the steps he took in solving mathematical problems.
