Abstract

Anxiety is a state of apprehension or worry that something bad will happen soon. Not a few people who experience violence will experience various psychological problems, one of which is the emergence of anxiety in adolescent girls. Verbal violence is an
individual's action against another individual which results in physical, sexual and psychological misery or suffering. This research will test the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral play therapy to reduce anxiety among female adolescents who are victims of verbal violence perpetrated by their parents. Using the Quasi Experimental Design research method. Non-probability sampling technique. Data analysis carried out was
non-parametric analysis using the Wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann Whitney test. The results of this study showed that there was a significant reduction in anxiety in the experimental group given treatment in the form of cognitive behavioral play therapy,
but this did not occur in the control group. The experimental group was more able to control the anxiety they felt by focusing their choices in a positive way, they were more capable of controlling their anxiety, and they were more able to change their behavior
which previously had the appearance of being maladaptive into being more adaptive.
