Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of adding various types of
liquid herbal plants on egg weight and feed conversion in layer chickens. This
research was carried out at Kandang Barokah Farm which is located in Gudo
District, Jombang Regency from 13 August 2023 to 11 September 2023. The
material used was 160 70week old Isa brown layer strain chickens using 20 flocks,
each flock consisting of 8 chickens. for 30 days. The research method used was a
completely randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments, namely P0 (basal feed),
P1 (basal feed + 1 turmeric liquid herbal), P2 (basal feed + 1 ginger liquid herbal),
P3 (basal feed + liquid herbal ginger 1%), using 5 repetitions. The variables
measured were egg weight and feed conversion after administration of various
liquid herbs. This research uses the variation analysis method. If there is a
difference, procced with the BNT follow-up test. The results of this study showed
that the weight of eggs sequentially from the control, turmeric, ginger and ginger
treatments was 65.22 g; 65.08g; 63.88g; and 64.86 g; and feed conversion of 3.08%;
3.27 %, 2.78 %; and 3.05%. From the results ANAVA did not show any unreal
difference. It can be concluded that the addition of liquid herbs to feed as a feed
additive has not increased feed conversion and egg weight in layer hens.
