Abstract

Background: Sectio Caesarea is a surgical procedure that involves cutting the uterine wall through the front wall of the abdomen to remove the fetus from the mother's womb. This procedure is carried out taking into account the medical indications of the fetus, mother or both to save them from death. Caesarean section also has negative effects, including pain, risk of infection, weakness, sleep disturbances, impaired skin integrity, and nutrition less than required, but the effect that is often felt is pain due to the effects of surgery.
Objective: To identify the effect of giving finger handheld relaxation therapy on pain intensity in post caesarean section patients.
Method: Analysis of this nursing case study research data uses qualitative descriptive analysis techniques by focusing on the problem, then carrying out actual problem solving.
Results: The results of this study show that after being given the finger handheld relaxation technique intervention, there were better changes in pain complaints in post caesarean section patients.
Conclusion: The main nursing problem in this study was acute pain related to physical injury agents (Post SC). After being given intervention in the form of a finger handheld relaxation technique, it was found that there was an effect on reducing the intensity of post caesarean section pain.
