Abstract

Background: ADHF (Acute Decompensated Heart Faiure) is damage from sudden heart failure with a rapid onset, usually this can cause the appearance of peripheral edema and dyspnea as a result of pulmonary congestion. Deep diaphragmatic breath workout is a slow breathing exercise using the diaphragm muscle, allowing the stomach to lift slowly and the chest to fully expand, so researchers carried out a combination of providing oxygen therapy and deep diaphragmatic exercise to overcome decreased cardiac output in ADHF (Acute Decompensated Heart Faiure) patients in ICCU room.
Method: The research design used in preparing this case study uses a case report with a nursing process approach starting from assessment to evaluation and the diagnosis obtained is airway clearance and decreased cardiac output with a 52 yearold female patient, the intervention given was deep diaphragmatic breathing. exercise, namely training for 15 minutes 3 times a day with a 2 second pause for each repetition, can be done in the morning, afternoon and evening.
Results: After nursing intervention, the patient's condition gradually improved as evidenced by reduced shortness of breath, reduced weakness, occasional coughing and no pain when coughing, crackles (-), skin not pale, BP: 135/85 mmHg, RR: 20 x/minute, HR: 101 x/minute, SpO2: 95% (with nasal cannula 3 liters/minute)
