Abstract

The Muallaf Communication Forum is a community that operates in field of da'wah. This forum was welcomed by the public, especially converts to Islam. As time goes by the members in the forum are decreasing due to personal activities, especially since the majority of members are already at home ladder. Therefore, communication forums for converts to Islam need to utilize the media new communications such as YouTube so that material can still be conveyed to members who are unable to attend or wish to repeat the material previously stated. In creating an account on YouTube then It is necessary to know "what are the motives or needs of the forum members at the moment use YouTube to access da'wah accounts?'' so that account can be made according to the needs of forum members. This research uses the Uses and Graffiti theory put forward by Herbert Blumer and Elihu Katz in 1974 Uses and graffiti theory says that the audience is active and can freely choose media Which one do you want to choose to meet your needs? According to Mc. Quail There are four kinds of reasons why audiences use media, including motives information, transfer/diversion, personal relationships, and personal identity. Study It uses a quantitative approach, descriptive type, and research methods survey.
The most important motive of the members of the Muslim convert communication forum is motive diversion/diversion and the indicator that is most desired to be achieved is desire diverting oneself from activities that are less useful, the second place is motive personal relations and the indicator that most wants to be achieved is want apply the knowledge gained in social life. Account Ustadz Hanan Ataki's preaching is the account most chosen by people forum members with a viewing schedule 1-2 times a week to 3-4 times in a week.
