Abstract

Nowadays academic procrastination was considered normal to do so that a lot of students do procrastination, even though it was disrupting academic success. The overlap between non- academic and academic activities becomes the basis for students conducting academic procrastination. Academic procrastination in students was the tendency of a student to postpone work or tasks related to academics. The purpose of this study was to determine a general description of the percentage of academic procrastination conducted by students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This research used descriptive quantitative methods with a total of 112 active students from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Characteristics of subjects aged 18-24 years, both men and women who are still studying. Data collection in this study used incidental sampling technique while the instrument used in this study was the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS). The results of this study indicate that there were 51 students (51.8%) get high scores and 54 students (48.2%) get low scores. A high score indicates a student's tendency to procastinate, while a low score indicates the opposite.
