Abstract

Fraud is one of the crimes affected by the development of technology which is commonly called cybercrime. Cybercrime itself is more of a general crime that has characteristics committed by parties who control the use of information technology such as the internet and cellular. One of the crimes by utilizing online media is fraud. With the existence of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE and Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection which is in line and has the aim of increasing consumer awareness and independence to protect consumers and creating a protection system for consumers by providing legal certainty. This research is a type of empirical legal research that refers to the research carried out, namely examining secondary data and then researching primary materials in the field. The case taken by the author is about the Coldplay Concert Ticket Case with the perpetrator with the initials GD who earned billions of rupiah from the fraud. GD, who at that time claimed to know the promoter and get tickets from the promoter. Resellers who have trusted finally promote these tickets on social media and cause more victims of fraud. Parties who conduct buying and selling transactions are more responsible for all things that can be accounted for. To the business actors are required to be responsible for all things traded, then consumers are required to be more careful in terms of choosing and using goods and / or services and conducting a deeper review.
