Abstract

Background: Ulcers are a disease that causes pain in the pit of the stomach, usually ulcers occur due to irregular eating patterns and stress. Students usually experience stress and do not manage a good diet due to their busy lecture and practicum schedules, which can lead to ulcer recurrence. The incidence of ulcers in Indonesia is quite high, seen from observations made by the Indonesian Ministry of Health. This disease also affects public health by 41%.Antacids are drugs that are often used when experiencing ulcer recurrence.
Research Objectives: This study aims to see whether there is an influence of stress, diet, ulcer recurrence on the use of antacids.
Methods: This research used a cross sectional approach on Pharmacy students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang
Results and Conclusions: From the research results, it was found that stress, diet, ulcer recurrence can influence the use of antacids. And also, most respondents experienced mild stress due to poor eating patterns and frequent ulcer recurrences. Excessive increase in stomach acid is caused by stress due to the autonomic nervous system which will then affect the function of the body's organs, one of which is digestion, as well as irregular eating patterns and food that is too spicy can cause irritation to the stomach.
