Abstract

Malang City has an area of 110.1 km2 and has a population of 874,890 people in 2020 according to BPS Malang City data and continues to grow every year. In addition, the growth of infrastructure in Malang City is developing rapidly, strong growth, and the growth causes the soil to be covered with concrete and asphalt, causing rainwater to be unable to infiltrate into the soil. This can cause puddles to form on roads or in certain areas with different ground surfaces. In this case, Jln. Ikan Piranha is one of the roads where flooding or ponding often occurs on the road, using the Log Pearson III method and a return period of 5 years, the calculation result is 0.571 m3/s. To calculate the population projection using three methods, the exponential method is used, by extrapolating the population through the calculation method, the results obtained are 1119441 people in 2025. As for several channels that cannot accommodate the design flood discharge in the study area, they consist of channels S4, S11, S14, S23, S29, S41, S42, S59, S61, and S63. Some channels that cannot accommodate flood discharge have been redesigned by increasing the channel size as follows 0.5 x 0.5 m to 0.6 x 0.8 m 0.3 x 0.4 m to 0.4 x 0.5 m.
