Abstract

Acts of terrorism become a psychological war which is always followed by violence, intimidation and fear of terror targets. Terrorism is a very important issue to be tackled by Indonesia and Australia in maintaining regional security. From the 2002 Bali Bombing incident, cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in tackling acts of terrorism began. This article discusses how the dynamics of cooperation in the Indonesia-Australia Bilateral Relations are seen from the Regional Security Complex which influenced the Indonesia-Australia cooperation in combating terrorism in President Joko Widodo's administration which focused on the cooperation of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) as well how cooperation efforts between Indonesia are carried out. The type of research used is descriptive in explaining the efforts of Indonesia-Australia in tackling terrorism in the region where the data is obtained from the literature. carried out to maintain regional security from the threat of terrorism. The increase in terrorism that has occurred in the last 5 years has made Indonesia and Australia increase their cooperation in countering terrorism. In the second period of cooperation in combating terrorism between Indonesia and Australia during the reign of Joko Widodo, much of the cooperation was carried out in the form of dialogue and seminars related to terrorism issues. From the collaboration between Indonesia and Australia in handling terrorism, this is an aspect of charity that is shown even though it is colored by conflict between the two.
