Abstract

This research aims to determine the efforts of the Indonesian government in dealing with cases of human trafficking among Indonesian workers in the UAE. The activity of Indonesian migrant workers in the UAE has been around for a long time, this has resulted in increasing interest and demand for Indonesian workers in the UAE. However, the increasing demand has resulted in the emergence of acts of human trafficking experienced by Indonesian workers, with the majority of Indonesian workers experiencing acts of sexual harassment. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method, where the research will be carried out through relevant data sources and will be presented descriptively through words, while the research technique uses library research techniques through relevant books, journals, and internet sources. There are several efforts made by the Indonesian Government, such as establishing bilateral relations with the UAE and strengthening the national and international legal framework. However, this collaboration experienced several obstacles due to a weak legal framework, where UAE policies weakened the protection of Indonesian workers, especially domestic workers due to the Kafala system.
