Abstract

A marriage is an important thing in life as humans who are destined to be partners, therefore
it is very important to maintain a marriage relationship. Building romantic relationships using
the Triangular theory of love approach with three aspects, namely intimacy, passion and
commitment, is one way to make marital relationships better, especially for early adults who
are in long-distance marriages. The purpose of this research is to explore how important
romantic relationships are with the love triangle theory approach in young adults who are in
long-distance marriages. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The number
of subjects was 100 people using a nonprobability sampling method with an Accidental
Sampling approach. This research uses a love triangle theory measuring instrument. Then in
this research it was found that three aspects, namely intimacy, passion and commitment, are
very important for developing a romantic relationship by showing a high score overall. The
average score for intimacy is 19.15, then the average score for passion is 18.79, and the
average score for commitment is 19.08.
