Abstract

Application program for mobile phone is not limited just for communication service. Except games and other daily applications, mathematic application also needed to complete the mobile phone that is used for solving the complex calculating problem. Mobile phones at present generally were equipped with basic mathematic application program which its operations are limited just for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. With Java base mobile phone, it is very possible to create the complex mathematic application program by using JAVATM 2 MICRO EDITION (J2ME), even to create mathematic application program which is used to find the solutions that are impossible to be found by closed-form method or general mathematic solution. That impossibility is caused by too much the number of data that will be worked, so that must be solved with the numeric approximation method. The linear regression application is the one of two curve-fitting methods; this application is used for finding a linear mathematic function from known dataset; than drawing a graphic of its mathematic function and also drawing the x and y value to the canvas of mobile phone screen.
