Abstract

Television is an audiovisual since it serves such things that could be captured through eyes (visual) and could be heard through ears (audio). Which with these conditions, it could be produced perception also opinion of what have seen and heard. The statement of problem in this study is, how is the people’ s perceptions to the Bina Agama Islam talk show on Lombok TV. The purpose of this study is, to know the people’ s perceptions in Dusun Sedayu Tengah, Desa Kediri, Kecamatan Kediri, Kabupaten Lombok Barat to the Bina Agama Islam talk show on Lombok TV. The research method on this study was qualitative, which was study of taking samples of a population, observation, and interview as the research instrument. The research design was descriptive, which was a study of exploration and clarification about some phenomena or the social reality in the way of describing some variables related to the problems and units of the study. The population of this study was people of RT.01 Dusun Sedayu Tengah, Desa Kediri, Kecamatan Kediri, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. This study was using samples total of 25 ppopulations. The data was collected through interview. In this study, the writer used the uses and gratification theory, which it assumed that the users have an alternative choice to satisfying their needs. The media consumers have a freedom to decide how (through which media) they use the media, also how the media impact to themselves. Mass media becomes a main tool that should be exists in it. Mass media has widened humans the way of thinking and feeling (both in individual and groups). Mass media is such a tool of the mass communication that serves us a chance to record and send both information and experience vastly to the audiences and the heterogents. The existence of a local television gives another kinds of choice to the media consumer in deciding the information needs around and at the outside of our environment. Based on the study above, it was founded that the people percepted the show as a show that can add people’ s information of religion, as a place to save people’ s critics of their religion experiences in their daily life and how they implemented the solutions to the society life. By the existence of the local TV, people could have a choice to watch anything around the social life, especially in Lombok. While the people’ s were active in choosing media, it was caused by the emotional approach with someone or a respected person in Lombok. The interested thing in talking about religion was, people could interact directly and gave opinions objections, or suggestions as a social control in having a social relation.
