Abstract

In Indonesia, the education side was always demanded to evaluate in trying creating the quality of education. In learning process, students involvement had to be improved and increased by asking them be active students. Here, the teacher’s creativity was needed to encourage their motivation if they had high motivation so it could increase their achievement, on of the learning model that applicated the enjoyment and emphasized on the students involvement was edutainment learning model with SAVI approach (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, intellectual). The research was conducted to know the increasing of the students motivation and their achievements during the learning process by using edutainment learning model with SAVI approach in the cube and bar materials, it was applied to 29 students of VIII A class of SMPM-14 Karangasem Paciran Lamongan. The research desingn of this study was qualitative and classroom action research type. Meanwhile, the instrument used was questionnaire of the students’ motivation and their last test result in every cycle, this research was conducted on 04 April until 02 May 2009. The findings showed that the students’ motivation before given the treatment was found mean 58.66%, then after given the treatment of cycle I it increased be 70.43%, and in cycle II the students’ motivation more increased with mean score 81.73% in very good level of success. In cycle I test, the completetion of classical learning had not been reached yet, it was found 79.31%, out of 23 students had learning completetion and 6 students had not been yet. And in cycle II it was reached 100% completation of classical learning.
