Hot mud disaster that happened in Sidoarjo resulting in huge losses for the victims. For adult victims, this disaster provides a considerable impact. With the existence of this disaster, many of the problems faced by the victims where they have lost their belongings and leaving the home they are immersed in mud, and had lived in refugee camps for a while. The main problem faced by adult victims is a matter of lack of evacuation facilities and non-fulfillment of their demands for redress. In order for this disaster does not have a negative impact to their development, we need a coping strategy in solving the problems that caused the disaster. Coping strategies that digunakankan divided into two kinds of emotion focused coping and problem focused coping. Objective of the study are to determine the problem and a coping strategy in dealing with disasters in adults hot mudflow victims in Sidoarjo in East Java. This research used descriptive survey approach and using quantitative methods as the primary method, whereby the use of quantitative methods are intended as a medium of subject selection. While the descriptive survey itself is the inquiry which was held to obtain the facts from the existing symptoms and seek factual information, both about social or political intuition of a group or a region. The results of this study to explain the problems and coping strategies in particular, woman victims aged 30 to 40 years in the face of this hot mudflow disaster. Subjects in this study of 60 people who are in refugee camps new markets Porong Sidoarjo. Methods of data collection in this study using a questionnaire or a questionnaire. The results showed that the main problem faced by the victims is a problem related to economy, the environment of the refugee adjustment, and religious worship, health issues, marriage, child education, social adjustment with fellow refugees, and problems in their spare time. To deal with problems, mostly using problem focused coping with the way the search for new jobs, businesses demand compensation, and business which immediately thought of solving problems they face. But not a few others using Emotional focused coping by not doing anything and accept with resignation, and tried to be patient and resilient to face the trials that they feel at this moment.
