Abstract

Lesson plan is the guidance of teaching learning processes. Lesson plan is the specification of the content of a course of instruction and list what will be taught and tested. Lesson plan serves many advantages both for the teachers and students such as 1) Ensuring a fair and upfront understanding between the instructor and students relating to the confusion of policy of the course, 2) Students interest to be put into the course, 3) Providing a roadmap of course organization, 4) Relaying the instructor ‘ s teaching philosophy to the students and 5) providing a marketing angle of a course such students that may chose early in the course whether the subject material is attractive. This research is to analyze about the problem of implementing lesson plan at SMA Sunan Kalijogo Jabung malang. In this study, the researcher uses the descriptive research. In collecting the data, three types of instrument were interview, observation and document. The data of the study are analyzed by using the procedures such as developing research instruments, analyzing the data, and taking conclusion. Relating to the result of the study, the English teachers have different problem in implementing the lesson plan. The English teacher (A) has problem in allocating time. Thus, some material cannot be covered in teaching English process. The solution taken by the English teacher is by minimizing some materials to make students get more understanding relaying to the taught materials while, the English teacher (B) has problem to teach reading text because students were lack of vocabulary and student were not able to do reading exercises. The solution taken by the English teacher is by developing the students’ ability to master vocabulary and to understand reading texts.
