One problem that must be faced by the elderly is the loss of a spouse. Hurlock (1978:426) mentions that one way elderly people in overcoming the problem is to get married again. This course is different from the individual undergoing the first marriage, is because everything is more complex than face what awaits at the first marriage. Hurlock (1980:312) mentions that this is caused by four things, namely because they are generally older than the first marriage, all forms of adjustment will theoretically more difficult according to age, marital adjustment means eliminating or restraint attitudes that have been patterned in a period of a very long time and tried to form a new attitude, and involvement of families in the first marriage, which means adding new problems. The purpose of this research is to gain insight about the adjustment of marriage and also determine the factors that support and impede adjustment to the elderly marriage, married again This research is a descriptive qualitative study, which took place on 1-14 August 2009 to examine the subject of five elderly people who get married again. Researchers used interviews as a method of data collection techniques and data validity checks with triangulation of sources. The research that has been collected and analyzed and made the interpretation or the interpretation of data. From the findings as presented in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that the three people managed to make adjustments to marriage and two others were less successful. Three people who succeed in making adjustments with the partner is supported by factors as follows; apply to partner with each other, can express the pair of affection, able to meet each other and understand the needs of the couple, instilling a sense of tolerance, harmony, and respect for the couple, and want happiness partner. In the financial adjustment, the factors that support a secure financial condition and good money management. In sexual adjustment, the factors that support the open and mutual understanding the state of each partner. While the factors that support for adjustments to the couple's family, among others; instill a sense of tolerance, harmony, respect, appreciate, and understand, have the ability to solve problems, and trying to maintain a good relationship. While the two subjects that are less successful in marital adjustment is inhibited by various factors. For a couple aspects of adjustment, the factors that inhibit the other can not accept the habit since the beginning of marriage partner, can not meet the needs of her partner, ethnic differences, and can not honor the couple. To aspects of sexual adjustment, the age factor that causes a decrease in physical condition helped prevent subjects in making adjustments. As for adjustment with the couple's family, are factors that inhibit the subject's inability to resolve conflicts with the couple's family.
