The main purpose of this study was to analyze the development of small and medium industries (SMI) in Riau province in terms of spatial dimensions. Observation period used in the early years using observations and observations of year end 2006 and year 2009. This study tried to explain the concentration happens to small and medium industries by bringing together industry perspective, time and space. This study analyzed the geographic concentration trend over the course of the year Riau 2006 2009, and using econometric models and quantitative descriptive analysis. Concentration that occurs based on the number of business units and labor, is available at the district / city of Pekanbaru, as one of the central region of the regencies / cities. Whereas investment in the early years there in the town of Dumai observations and observations at the end of a broader shift to the Siak district, Dumai and Pekanbaru. For his own output of the dominant district in the early years of observation is Pekanbaru, followed by Inhil district, Kampar, Bengkalis Holy and, while at the end of the year shifted to the district Kuansing observation andis followed by Pekanbaru, Dumai, Kampar and rohil. Results of estimates for 11 districts in Riau Province during the observation period 2006 2009 show that is still going on spatial concentration based on the views of the output variables SMI in Riau province and provide empirical support for this model according to the statistical observation that the result is that output in Riau province influenced by the amount of labor and investment value.
