Abstract

Echinodermata is invertebrate class that has high variety level in its species and has important role whether in ecology, economy and as learning source. It is because it has important role in sea ecosystem, either in quantity or even quality so that the existence of Phylum Echinodermata needs to be protected and be cared. One step that could be done is by keeping the number of species that still we have and protect it. The purpose of this study is to know the species of Phylum Echinodermata that is found, to know the density and frequency of Phylum Echinodermata, and to know the feasibility of inventory Echinodermata in Brumbun Beach Tanggung Gunung, Tulungagung as learning source. This study is Descriptive. The population of this study is all Phylum Echinodermata in Brumbun Beach Tanggung Gunung Tulungagung. Sample of this study is Phylum Echinodermata species in Brumbun Beacg Tanggung Gunung, Tulungagung. The result of this study is: 1). Echinodermata species has 11 species. 2) the density of Phylum Echinodemata, the highes is Ophiocoma echinata Lamarck by value 3,45/m² and the lowest density value is Linckia laevigata linnaeus by density value 0,012/m². The highest frequency of Phylum Echinodermata is Ophiocoma echinata Lamarck by value 0,583 and frequency value in lowest level is Linckia laevigata linnaeus by 0,0021. Ophiocoma echinata Lamarck is the most dominant species so that can control the existence of other species in the community. Echinodermata species is in variety so that it can be the appropriate learning source for biology material.
