Abstract
The improvement of green pea’s productivity could be done by fixing technical culture of farmers or the cultivation technique, to obtained varieties that has high productivity and post-harvest management inclination. One way is by using defoliation treatment so it would transfer the photosynthesize product into generative growth. Information about defoliation or leaf reduction in green pea is still scarce, therefore it is still necessary to conduct experiment using defoliation treatment related with some variety of green peas. The experiment was conducted in Green House Muhammadiyah University Malang that lies in Tegalgondo village, Malang with elevation of 550 m above sea level. Materials used in this experiment are seed of green peas from Perkutut variety, Walet variety, Kutilang variety, urea fertilizer, SP-36 fertilizer, KCl fertilizer, soil of Incepdsol (sandy clay soil), polybag, and water. To prevent any pests and diseases, it use Dthane M-45 and Decis 2,5 EC applied depend on the attack. This experiment use Group Random Design that arranged factorially with 2 factors and repeated 3 times. Data analysis in this experiment using F-test. To found out about differences among treatments, furthermore analyze using DMRT Test in 5% significant rate (DMRT 5%). The result of this experiment is there are interactions between defoliation and varieties in amount of leaf, leaf total vast, seed dry weight and total plant dry weight parameters. Varieties had significant effect toward amount of leaf and leaf total vast parameters of all observation ages. Varieties didn’t have significant effect toward plant height, seed dry weight and total plant dry weight parameters of all observation ages. Defoliation had significant effect toward amount of leaf and leaf total length parameters and also toward seed dry weight and total plant dry weight. Defoliation didn’t have significant effect toward plant height during observation. Walet variety has given better result on defoliation treatment compare to Perkutut and Kutilang varieties and two trifoliate leaf treatment had come up into better result compare with no defoliation treatment and four trifoliate leaf treatment.
